The Port or Terminal of the Year Award focuses on projects, innovation, commercial success and overall achievements at the ports and terminals dotting the Australian coastline.
Our ports and terminals facilitate Australia’s trade, and with so much activity at these maritime gateways, this important category highlights those that have gone above and beyond to work efficiently, sustainably and to keep the economy moving.
But time is running out to nominate for the Port or Terminal of the Year Award – nominations for the DCN Australian Shipping & Maritime Industry Awards close at 1700 on Wednesday 4 October.
Patrick Terminals – Sydney AutoStrad was named Port or Terminal of the Year in 2022.
The Patrick Sydney AutoRail Terminal was the result of a $190-million investment between NSW Ports and Patrick Terminals to drive efficiency at Port Botany and support the state government’s strategy to increase freight on rail.
The project, lauded for its innovation, led to a capacity increase from 250,000 TEU to 500,000 TEU and alleviated congestion in the truck exchange.
The sponsor behind the Port or Terminal of the Year Award is Svitzer Australia.
“Svitzer is proud to support the Port or Terminal of the Year award because it is an opportunity for us to ensure that valued customers and stakeholders within the industry are recognised for their exceptional work and service to the shipping and maritime community,” a Svitzer spokesperson said.
“The awards provide us with an opportunity to acknowledge those efforts, and as a founding sponsor we are pleased to be able to contribute to industry’s night of nights, if only in a small way.”
